Testimonal
Approximately nine years ago, I became very ill with a disease called ulcerative colitis; one form of a variety of increasingly common digestive problems involving the intestines. The end result of this illness left me with an ileostomy. This surgery turned my life upside down. There are many challenges when dealing with this new way of life. The main one of course is cleaning these pouches every day, many times a day. You can't just throw them out, even if you don't want to clean them. They still need to be emptied. The process to clean them can take anywhere from five minutes to thirty minutes, provided you don't have any issues.
My husband, Rod Withers had to clean the pouches for me in the beginning and realized over time that people like myself needed a better alternative. He came up with the idea of an ostomy-cleaning device. A few different units were made and patented which we're functional, but it wasn't until this past year (2008) that Rod approached Tony Yaroshak from Stainless Steel Technology, who was able to take this unit and make it what it is today. It is an incredible time saving device that gives me back the dignity I once had. This newly-patented technology is now available to all ostomates worldwide. It's easy to use, so there is no more frustration from fumbling around with pouches. Nothing else available compares this valuable tool in its ability to make life as simple as possible for an ostomate and those caring for them. It's hygienic, and adaptable to all types of ostomy systems; this is a huge bonus because in the beginning it does take time to choose which ostomy pouches you will be comfortable with. There's no contact with feces, so there are no more messes. It cleans and sanitizes the bags, leaving you feeling clean & fresh.
Installation is simple: fifteen minutes tops and this unit is installed and ready when you need it. Life is back to normal, or as normal as is possible for an ostomate.
